UAE ABOUT THE FOUNDER

Adrián Navarro Moya

Founder & CEO, Urbanova Cloud. Environmental scientist and hardware engineer, based in Abu Dhabi.

THE STORY

From field science to field technology.

Urbanova Cloud is led by its founder, Adrián Navarro Moya, an environmental scientist and hardware engineer who has spent more than two decades turning field problems into working technology. His path runs from measuring river quality with biological indicators in 1999 to deploying municipal IoT fleets in southern Spain and supervising coral restoration engineering in the Gulf.

The science came first. A degree in Environmental Sciences from the University of Granada led to research stays in Belgium, Greece and the Netherlands, always around one theme: understanding water and ecosystems through careful measurement. Today that thread continues as a PhD candidate in Marine and Coastal Science and Technology at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, in collaboration with Khalifa University and Sorbonne University in Abu Dhabi, working on biomimetic robotic turtles with collective intelligence for marine conservation.

The engineering followed. As founder and CTO of Smart Biosystem he took a smart irrigation system from prototype to a commercial product deployed at municipal scale in Spain. As founder of Smart Cyberfarm he developed vertical farming technology under a CDTI project. In the Emirates he has built IoT prototypes for the Fujairah Research Centre and supervised coral transport engineering for the NEOM The Line restoration project with Archireef. He is based in Abu Dhabi.

BUO2024
Marine buoy deck during construction with weather station, navigation light and solar panels, with the yellow hull behind

Oceanographic Marine Buoy

Fujairah Research Centre, UAE

Solar-powered coastal buoy for continuous water-quality monitoring, developed for the Marine Lab of the Fujairah Research Centre. A multiparameter sonde reads pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity, chlorophyll and blue-green algae, joined by a deck weather station and 4G telemetry with GPS. The same measurement discipline behind our lake monitoring designs.

Jockey Camel Robot

Fujairah Research Centre, UAE

Robot jockey for camel racing developed for the Fujairah Research Centre. Onboard electronics stream live speed, acceleration and distance, and the whip automation is configured per track segment and speed target from its own control platform. Built compact and tested on the race track.

COR2025-2026
Design render of the floating coral transport structure loaded with yellow perforated boxes

Coral Transport System

Archireef, NEOM The Line

Modular floating structure engineered for relocating live corals in one of the most ambitious reef-restoration programmes in the world. It carries up to 200 corals per tow inside perforated ballasted boxes, and the design was validated with finite element analysis and CFD flow simulation before entering supervised field operations.

WHY IT MATTERS

One person answers for the whole stack.

When you work with Urbanova Cloud, this is the experience behind your project: someone who has designed the sensor, written the firmware, built the cloud platform, installed the box in the ground and answered for the result. Not a reseller of other people's technology.
